Just finished a fantastic five days at sea from Miami to Jamaica on the Sirius Outlaw #5 Cruise with band mates, T Jarrod Bonta, Vic Gerard, Karen Biller and guest singers Ruby James and Bonnie Montgomery. Highlights were debuting some of my new songs and sitting in with The Mavericks and The Super Suckers!
Also awesome fun was had when I got to sing with Jason Ringenberg of the Scorchers on a song we wrote decades ago called Love And Danger. Afterwards we closed with a rowdy Ringenberg Version of Tear it Up! Boy, that Jason can move it!!
My closing set on the Cruise was so fun with friends sitting in starting with a country song with Laura Cantrell’s sweet soprano tone. Then all hell broke loose afterwards when we tore it up with a fury filled guitar solo by Supersucker Marty after I handed over my Silvertone Bobkat that made the guitar beg for mercy. The night came to an explosive end with an out-of-control thrashing performance of the Sex Pistols “Pretty Vacant.” At the end of the song, Jon Langford followed by his Waco Bros and fiddler Tahmineh Guaramay joined me on the chorus ending the show in true punk fashion frolicking all over the floor of the Magnum stage with our feet in the air and plenty of amplifier feedback to boot!
Outlaw Cruise #5 was the best yet!
That was the last night, and somehow I found myself landing the next morning in Malaga Spain to play the Rockin’ Race Rockabilly festival this coming Thursday night! I’m thrilled to have Deke Dickerson on upright bass, and James Intveld playing guitar and singing a couple too! We will do some tunes from my Rockabilly Filly CD! I can’t wait!!
More fun to come next week when I land in London, England, to join up with some of Nick Lowes ex-band mates to play five shows. This is an exciting comeback for me since I haven’t played the UK in over 17 years!!
I’m gonna keep going strong with fun shows continuing in the Spring, check TOUR here for all current and future details to come! See ya out on the road and at my home in Austin Texas!
